Drawn to the Light brings new freedom to lighting designers worldwide

Drawn to the Light exists to deliver lighting design, drafting, pre-visualisation, and programming services to the corporate experiential, music touring, event, and themed entertainment sector.

Initially DTTL was founded as a creative agency offering expertise in lighting design support services in the form of drafting, pre-visualisation, and programming, Drawn to the Light’s offering was augmented by Jonny Milmer’s 20 years of corporate and large-scale event lighting design practice. Today he specialises in designing for unusual architectural projects, product launches, TV broadcasts and immersive theatre.

DTTL is boosted by a rentable, well-equipped pre-vis studio, accommodated at comfortable, conveniently located offices in the centre of Biscester, Oxfordshire.

A welcome extension to any team, Drawn to the Light employs a diverse team of experts in Vectorwork's, Depense, photoshop and illustrator, alongside other drawing and render software. Each member of the team is fully conversant with the live and tv production process, from initial specification to final delivery and sign off. The benefit to the busy lighting design client is a stable, consistent, expedient, and reliable partner, that delivers presentation ready materials or art renders at a fixed overhead and to an agreed deadline.

Every drawing DTTL supplies is as unique as the creatives the DTTL team support. All paperwork is created with the client’s house style and branding. While some clients require simple paperwork, others are happy to give us their hand-drawn sketches alongside a brief to produce every element of the paperwork, from models through renders to a full presentation deck and a set of mood images.

As the design disciplines become increasingly valued by end clients, experienced designers no longer feel compelled to own every part of the process. Instead, they focus on the creative thinking and client liaison element, knowing they can rely on DTTL to remain in step with the latest drawing technology software and hardware, while continuously reinforcing the learning and financial investment required.
